Open the Gate was quite successful, drawing over 600 wrestling fans from all over New England and Canada. We send our congratulations to Jake DeMarte, for defeating Alexander Irvine on our home turf to take the MLWA World title home... We also would like to congratulate our two new champions... GCW Heavyweight Champ David Hilt and GCW Evolution Champ Dave Milan. We know the two Dave's are great champions and representatives for Gate City Wrestling.
The success of OtG has President William Ellis considering branching out to new territories in New England, as well as searching for a local TV deal. While getting on TV probably won't put up record ratings, it will get people in the area interested in the company, thus drawing bigger crowds. It is rumored that the city of Nashua is willing to give GCW a late night spot on their new educational channel 99. As for the expansion, William has bee looking to expand northward to Manchester, NH, and southward to Lowell, MA. He has been checking out various venues and areas where GCW could hold shows.
GCW has had to release a few wrestlers this week. We wish Lance Erikson, Nightkiller, and "The Extreme Dream" Allen Dragon the best of luck with whatever their future holds. We also must announce that Elijah Cage has requested to be released, due to personal issues. We hope that Elijah may return to the GCW family soon, after taking care of his own.
There is rumor going about that Maple Leaf Wrestling's Alexander Irvine and Julian Cutlass may jump over to GCW to compete in the tag division. More on this as soon as more details are revealed.
Now we review the upcoming Sunday Night Storm.
Non-Title Match: Champ vs. Champ
Dave Milan vs. David Hilt
Arik Arrogance vs. The Ringmaster
Caleb Lanseng vs. Apollo Mercer
Sebastian Taylor & Malicious vs. The Reign Brothers
As you can see, there are a few good matchups on this short card. We have newcomers Sebastian Taylor and Malicious taking on The Reign Brothers in an opening tag match. Following that is Caleb Lanseng and Apollo Mercer facing off following their losses at OtG. Then is Arik Arrogance and The Ringmaster. Arik Arrogance has proven that he isn't a chump following his victory at OtG, but The Ringmaster is looking to redeem himself after narrowly losing the ladder match to Dave Milan. Speaking of Dave, we have a battle of the Dave's, as well as a battle of the champs in a non-title match for the main event. These two wrestlers blend in well together, and after Milan lost to Hilt in the GCW Heavyweight Championship Tournament, he's looking to regain his sanity by battling his shadow in Hilt.
Hurry up and hop on the train, because GCW doesn't look like it's stopping any time soon!
