May 2007
[/b]A Month in Review[/center]
Cinco de Mayo, 2007, the realization of a vision held in the deepest depths in the psyche of William Ellis slowly materializes out of the realm of concept into that of reality as Gate City Wrestling first appears before us—a company full of potential yet to be seen. Over the next 26 days, we saw that potential flourish faster than anyone ever thought possible. The rumors of its existence were very quickly proven to be true and it seemed as though Gate City Wrestling had dove itself into magic waters which fed and weaned a fine premise and direction into what has grown to be a quite polished gem of opportunity.
With-in the first 8 days of operation, William Ellis managed to wrangle in the contracts of Six gifted competitors. Arik Arrogance, Lance Erickson, Dave Milan, Teddy Davis, Nightkiller, and David Hilt were the first six to take advantage of the opportunity Gate City provides and over the course of the next two weeks, fourteen more would join them--Quite possibly the fastest roster inflation rate in the business—definitely something to be proud of.
Gate City Wrestling held it’s first scheduled event just four days ago. The ‘buzz’ of which had built into ‘hype’ and upon show-time, the broadcast seemed to match that hype and then some. It’s opening matches seemed to prove entertaining as well as spark some controversy with a certain manager (that shall remain nameless >_>) right out of the gate. The highlight of the evening, however, turned out to be the main event with it’s constant run ins and interference from those other hungry pirates in the back willing to do just about anything to make a name for themselves—the match seemed as though it would run on for ever with the pirate’s hunger sending the audience on an emotional roller coaster along the way. We can only hope that in the months to come that the action inside and out of the ring can only continue to amaze us all. Until then, we hope that you have enjoyed the month of May and the birth of Gate City Wrestling. We also hope that you continue to make this company’s potential continue to grow for many many years to come.
