William Ellis: Welcome fans, to our first ever Supercard, Open the Gate! We have a great card set up for you tonight! Including Arik Arrogance against Caleb Lanseng, Alexander Irvine's first defense of the MLWA World title against our own Jake DeMarte, A ladder match to crown our first GCW Evolution Champion... and finally, the main event... The Finals to the GCW Heavyweight Championship Tournament between David Hilt and Elijah Cage. I'm your play by play man William Ellis, coming to you live along side my main color commentary man, Bryan Wise.
Bryan Wise: Thanks, Willy. We've got a lot of emotion going into our two main events, so this is nothing to miss. Tonight is going to define what is GCW, and what we stand for!
William Ellis: Now we go to our opening match, Generic Man against Lance Erikson.
Generic music plays over the PA as Generic Man walks out of backstage and down the ramp. About 12 people clap as Generic Man flexes at the end of the walkway and rolls in the ring. Generic Man starts to warm up in the ring, waiting for his competitor.
“The Four Horsemen” blares out of the PA as the lights go completely dark. A spotlight appears at the ramp as Lance Erikson is standing there. The crowd unleashes deafening boos, making any ambient sound inaudible. Lance walks slowly to the ring and climbs in. He removes his trench coat and his sunglasses. The two stand in the center of the ring staring each other down. Erikson starts to laugh in Generic Man’s face. Generic Man starts to look slightly rattled.
Ellis: Wow, I think the fans have a legitimate hatred for Lance Erikson.
Wise: I'm not surprised... He hasn't shown what he is made of here in GCW. I know he is a better competitor than this.
Ding Ding Ding!
Generic Man opens up a fury of punches, unloading his arsenal on to Erikson. Erikson starts to stand there, taking in the weak punches. Generic Man starts to breathe heavily, before he shrugs his shoulders. He then unleashes a hellish clothesline on Erikson. Erikson starts to clutch his throat as Generic Man starts to stomp on Erikson. Generic Man then pulls Erikson to his feet. He irish whips Erikson into the ropes and holds up his boot, meeting the jaw of a speeding Lance Erikson. Generic Man then pulls up Erikson to his feet again. He kicks Erikson in the stomach and pulls him onto his shoulders.
He promptly starts to spin around and around, faster and faster. People in the crowd start to laugh as Generic Man spins fast around the ring. Generic Man then places Erikson on to his feet. Erikson shuffles around the ring, looking like a complete drunk. He then trips over his own feet and collides with the ropes. He bounces off of them and Generic Man grabs him. He puts Erikson’s head between his legs and prepares for the Generic Bomb. He lifts up Erikson on to his shoulders and throws him straight to the mat, with a thunderous collision. Generic Man falls to his knees and covers up for the pin.
1...
2...
3...!
The bell rings and Generic Man jumps up to his feet. The crowd is in slight shock at the demise of Lance Erikson. Generic Man leaves the ring and jumps up and down, as if he had just won the lottery.
Bryan: Well…That was certainly…well…interesting, but stay tuned, because we have a lot more to come.
Winner: Generic Man @ 3:09 with the Generic Bomb

Ellis: And our next match Arik Arrogance vs. Caleb Lanseng.
Wise: Oh look who's back. Honestly, Will in my opinion, this could mean trouble.
Ellis: I'll second that Bryan. Who do you think is gonna win this?
Wise: Well, we haven't seen much from either wrestler, but considering Caleb's good showing on his last match against Allen, I'm gonna have to give it to him.
"We Fly High (Ballin)" by Jim Jones thumps on the sound system, and Arik Arrogance walks through the curtain wearing his trademark Oakley shades. His manager Mean Marky stands by him laughing. Red and yellow lights flash as he stands smiling a cocky grin. He struts down to the ring with his head up high as Mean Marky jumps around pumping up the fans as they boo at them. He climbs into the ring and ducks under the ropes. He grasps the ropes and leans back, pulling them with him. He then takes off his shades and hands them to Mean Marky.
William: And his opponent.
Hell hits as the lights go out and Caleb steps forward from the back. He runs to the ring and slides under the bottom and jumps to the top of the nearest turnbuckle. He looks out at the crowd for a moment before doing a backflip off the turnbuckle.
William: This match is scheduled for one fall. To my right, from Greenwich, Conneticut, weighing in at 220 pounds, Arik Arrogance!
*The crowd falls silent, some boo, but Arik just stands with a grin in his face eyeing Caleb*
William: And his opponent, from Auburn, Kentucky, weighing in at 226 pounds, Caleb Lanseng!
*Lanseng fans cheer as Caleb stretches, eye on Arik the whole time*
Ellis: Well it seems as if these two can't get their eye off each other.
Wise: I wouldn't take my eyes off Arik too if he were my opponent.
*Frank rings the bell and the two men circle each other. Caleb raises one arm, fingers flicking, and offers Arik a test of strength. Arik raises his right arm, seem to be accepting the challenge, but then kicks Caleb in the gut. Arik follows up with a right hand to Calebs temple. Caleb staggers back for a bit, almost losing balance. Arik wastes no time and runs to the opposite ropes and runs back and hits a successful dropkick to Calebs right knee.*
Wise: Remember, Caleb suffered an injury to his right knee and needed surgery. It put him out of work for a long time.
Ellis: I guess its safe to say that Arik is playing smart. Hopefully he doesn't break Calebs knee. I wouldn't want to lose another superstar.
Wise: Speaking of which, Teddy Davis suffered an injury. Hopefully he's not out of action for too long.
*The dropkick gave Arik a chance to lock in a leg lock to Calebs right leg. Arik gives off a smirk as Caleb tries to reach for the nearest ropes. Arik adds more pressure to Calebs leg making Caleb scream in pain*
Wise: A textbook leg lock from Arik. This could put the match in the bank.
Ellis: And if it doesn't, it could seriously limit the moves in Calebs arsenal. Remember, Caleb is a high-flyer, without his speed and one of his legs, the only one we'll be seeing flying high will be Arik.
*Bryan snorts and gives out a small laugh*
Ellis: What? What's so funny?
*Caleb manages to roll to the nearest rope and hangs on. Frank starts the five-count because Arik doesn't let go.*
1...
2...
3...
4...
*Arik let's go. He stands up and gives Caleb's leg a quick stomp. Arik works his way and grabs Caleb by the hair. Caleb fights back and gives a quick left uppercut to Ariks jaw. Arik lets go of the hair and clutches his jaw. Caleb stands up using the ropes, but Arik sees this and quickly walks up to Caleb and grabs his shoulder. Caleb gives an elbow which forces Arik to turn around and clutch his jaw. Caleb limps toward Arik's back and goes for an Unprettier. The move was successful and both man are now on the mat, Caleb facing up and Arik facing down. Caleb clutches his right knee for a second and quickly forces Arik to face up and goes for the cover.*
one...kickout!
*Caleb slowly stands up and climb the top turnbuckle. Caleb waits as Arik slowly stands up. As soon as Arik turns around, Caleb jumps off and goes for a diving clothesline. But Arik was quick to his feet as he jumps up and dropkick Calebs right knee while he was still in the air.*
Wise: WOAH! Such athletisism! Arik counters Calebs diving clothesline with a dropkick to Calebs targeted right knee. That's gotta hurt!
Ellis: What a great match so far! And this isn't even the main event yet!
*The impact causes Caleb to flip and land on his back. Caleb yells in pain as he clutches his right knee in agony. Arik goes for the pin.*
One...Two...Kickout!
Wise: That was close!
*Arik seems to keep his cool as he lifts Caleb by the hair. Arik, still holding Calebs hair, gives him a couple of headbutts. Arik lets go of the hair and yells insults to Caleb's ear up close. Arik then gives a few painfull chops. Caleb tries to give Arik his own chops, but Arik quickly outpowers Calebs.*
Wise: Well I think its becoming clear who's gonna win this match.
Ellis: Hold on, it ain't over yet.
*At this point, Mean Marky is distracting Frank from the match. This gives Arik the opportunity to kick Caleb in the groin and set him up for the Money Shot. The Money Shot was hit successfully and Arik goes for the pin.*
One...Two...Three!!
*Frank rings the bell and raises Arik's arm. Caleb can be seen laying face up with both his hands covering his face in dissapointment. Arik can be heard shouting "You never had a chance!" to Caleb. Arik rolls out of the ring and grabs his shades from Mean Marky, who he then hugs.*
Ellis: Well what a match. Arik, with a little help from Mean Marky, proves that he has more to offer to us than just interfering matches and causing trouble.
Wise: Heh, Arik didn't need Mean Marky's help. That match showed how capable he can be.
Ellis: Hold on to your seats, this show is far from over so stay tuned.
Winner: Arik Arrogance @ 5:26 with the Money Shot

MLWA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Ellis: Here we have Jake DeMarte going up against Maple Leaf Wrestling's Alexander Irvine for the MLWA World Heavyweight Championship.
Wise: It's not really a world championship...
Ellis: Not yet, Bryan! But this defense in GCW technically makes it a North American Championship, since the title was incepted in Canada.
Wise: Technicalities... Blah blah blah...
[The two men immediately lock-up and the match is underway. DeMarte charges, but Irvine takes the challenger down with a beautiful full arm drag. Irvine gets to his feet and takes a step back allowing Jake to get to his feet, Irvine moves in, but gets his eyes raked by DeMarte, which causes some boos from the 600 fans in attendance at the Nashua High School Gymnasium. DeMarte lands a left hand shot that stuns the MLWA World Heavyweight Champion, causing him to stagger back into the corner turnbuckle. DeMarte begins to unload with lefts and rights, but the champion is able to fire back with a right hand and then follows it with an uppercut, which sends Jake reeling into the middle of the ring.]
Ellis: DeMarte seems to be fighting cheap... He must really want this title.
Wise: It's called being aggressive, Willy. A thumb to the eye is strategy.
[Irvine sends the challenger into the ropes and upon the return, drives him into the mat with a hip toss. Irvine quickly attempts to apply a cross armbreaker and does it successfully. Irvine's got it on tight and it's hurting DeMarte quite a bit. The challenger inches his way to the ropes and grabs ahold of them, which causes the referee to force the World Heavyweight Champion to break the hold. Irvine pulls DeMarte to his feet and attempts to whip him into the corner, but DeMarte reverses it and the champion hits the turnbuckle with force. DeMarte drives his shoulder into the mid-section of the World champion before grabbing the ropes and driving his shoulder into Irvine's mid-section a second time. Irvine is pulled out by the mask and DeMarte nails him with a knee to the mid-section. DeMarte hoists him up for a vertical suplex and hits it, then floats over for the cover]

..
2....
...
3-NO!
[The World Heavyweight Champion managed to get his foot onto the bottom rope. The challenger, Jake DeMarte is angry, and arguing that he's won this bout. DeMarte decides to quit pestering the referee and refocuses his attention on the match. He pulls Irvine to his feet and whips him into the ropes and waits for a back body drop, but instead, Irvine stops and delivers a boot to the face. DeMarte goes down and Irvine applies the Anaconda Sleeper, but DeMarte grabs the ropes as quickly as he can and the referee calls for the break. Irvine breaks and backs off, allowing DeMarte to get to his feet. Irvine moves in, and again, DeMarte rakes the eyes. DeMarte backs him into the ropes and then clotheslines him to the floor.]
Ellis: Ouch, DeMarte plants the Russo Irvine with a hard clothesline.
Wise: Commie bastard...
Ellis: Quiet, Bryan!
[DeMarte pulls Irvine up and goes to whip him into the ring post, but the World champion counters it and sends DeMarte in, who hits it hard and goes down. Irvine stomps away at the dazed challenger before pulling him up and tossing him into the ring. Irvine climbs up and attempts to apply the Texas Cloverleaf, but DeMarte shoots him off into the corner. DeMarte gets to his feet and backdrops a charging Alexander Irvine. Both men fall to the mat in a daze, and DeMarte recovers first and drops an elbow. DeMarte goes for the cover.]
1...
...
2...
..KICKOUT!
[DeMarte pulls Irvine up, but the champion connects with an elbow to the jaw. Irvine goes for the Guillotine choke, but DeMarte escapes. Irvine backs into a corner and comes charging out with a shoulderblock causing DeMarte to go down. Irvine connects with a roundhouse kick as DeMarte's getting to his feet and then proceeds to go for the cover. He gets a two count only! Irvine picks up DeMarte and goes for a bodyslam, but DeMarte gets him all hooked up in a small package. The World Champion kicks out at two. Both these men are clearly exhausted and are trading blows from their knees. Irvine clocks DeMarte with a right hand and sends him down. The Champion climbs to his feet and pulls the challenger to his feet, sending him to the corner. Irvine charges in and goes for a shoulderblock, but DeMarte dives out of the way and Irvine collides with the turnbuckle and tumbles backwards. DeMarte rolls him up in a horizontal cradle and puts his feet on the ropes]
1...
...
2....
....
3!
[The six hundred fans in attendance are shocked to see the Gate City Wrestling star Jake DeMarte overcome Alexander Irvine to become the second World Heavyweight Champion.]
Ellis: Excellent work by Jake DeMarte to bring the title home to New Hampshire!
Wise: I just realized something... A Russian and an American are fighting for a Canadian title? Talk about Cold War... HAH!
Ellis: That makes no sense, but we must congratulate Jake DeMarte on his victory, and applaud Alexander Irvine for a good effort.
Winner: Jake DeMarte @ 16:42 with a roll up pin

GCW Evolution Championship Match
*In front of the entrance curtain stands a 10 foot ladder with black siding and metallic steps. The camera pans out and turns to focus on the GCW Evolution Championship hanging snugly above the ring. It wavers slightly and the crowd cheers. Suddenly, the Canadian National Anthem plays, and a man wearing a mask with the maple leaf on it walks out. He lifts a microphone to his lips and sings, horribly off key...*
Pierre: O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command!
*He walks down towards the ring, still singing as some people cheer and sing along, while others boo.*
Pierre: With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free! From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!
*Pierre enters the ring, about to finish...*
Pierre: God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee! O Canada, we stand on guard for...
*Pierre is cut off by "Straight to the Bank" by 50 Cent. Apollo Mercer walks out nodding his head and singing along to the music. He looks over at the ladder and looks away. He slowly saunters to the ring before getting to the ring steps. He climbs the steps slowly and stops then smiles to the crowd and gets back into the ring. "Heart Full of Black" by Burning Brides hits the sound system and Milan waits until the guitar kicks in during the song to break the curtain, coming through with lots of energy. Milan slaps his chest and arms and points to the crowd, often saying "This is for all for you.". He doesn't really have any specific pose, but tends to make a "handgun" out of his hand, a throwback to his Outlaw days from his debut. When Milan is a heel, he normally breaks curtain and remains focused on the match ahead. Occasionally he'll stop and gets into the face of a fan. He'll even go as far as the take their drinks or knock their food or signs down. Finally, The Fight Song hits the PA and blue lights flicker quickly. The Ringmaster emerges from backstage on a blue Kawasaki Ninja. He accelerates quickly to the ring and endos (front brakes, making a nose wheelie) at the end of the ramp. He then gets off and sets the kickstand. He then slides through the bottom ropes and looks at the fans. He then jumps around in the ring, warming up.*
Bryan Wise: Well, I can feel it in my bones, fans. This match is going to be a staple in GCW's history. I'm very excited to see the outcome of this ladder match... Now to Will who's in the ring.
*William steps in the middle of the ring, directly beneath the dangling GCW Evolution title. He lifts the microphone to his mouth and begins to speak.*
William Ellis: This upcoming match is for the Gate City Wrestling Evolution Title, and the Co-Main Event of the evening! This is a no time limit ladder match! Competing in this match, from the Great White North. He weighs in at 195 pounds... PIERRE... THE MASKED CANUCK!
*The crowd cheers, with a few scattered boos around as Pierre gives a thumbs up and a grin.*
Ellis: ...And from Palm Springs, California. Weighing in at 220 pounds... APOLLO MERCER!
*The crowd gives a mixed reaction to the California native.*
Ellis: ...From San Diego, California... Weighing in at 156 pounds... DAVE MILAN!
*The crowd cheers as Dave bounces around, looking slightly nervous.*
Ellis: Finally, from Boston, Massachusetts... Weighing in at 193 pounds... THE RINGMASTER!
*The crowd cheers as The Ringmaster raises his hand, thanking them.*
Ellis: Are we ready? Lets fight!
*The bell rings, and Ellis exits the ring. All four men eye each other, seeing who makes the first move. Seconds go by, and all of a sudden the four men simeultaneously exit the ring and rush for the ladder.*
Wise: And it's a footrace!
*Pierre is at the head of the pack, hustling for the ladder, but Apollo sticks out his foot and trips Pierre. Pierre doesn't go down without a fight, though, and grabs at Apollo's ankle, bringing him down as well. The two men wrestle on the gym floor, while Ringmaster and Milan continue towards the ladder. They both get there at the same time, and both go to opposite sides of the ladder. It becomes a tug of war, both men wrestling for the ladder. Ringmaster stops, yelling "Hold on..." Dave looks at him, confused. Ringmaster yells "Rock, Paper, Scissors!". Dave Milan looks to the crowd as they cheer them on to play.*
Ellis: This has become more immature than I had hoped...
Wise: Quit being a spoil-sport, Ellis! Rock Paper Scissors is an international peace making maneuver. We could end wars with this game!
*They two smack fists into the opposite hand three times and shoot... Milan chose rock and Ringmaster chose paper. Milan shrugs as Ringmaster basks in glory, but Milan gives Ringmaster a boot to the gut and swipes the ladder. He runs towards the ring, but Pierre and Apollo are prepared to stop them. Milan turns the ladder sideways and plows through the both of them full charge. They hit the ground hard, and Milan slides the ladder into the ring and glides in after it. He quickly sets the ladder up and begins to ascend it, alone in the ring. He nearly gets to the top before Ringmaster enters the ring and pushes the ladder down. Milan jumps off and lands on his feet like a cat, but Ringmaster charges at him with a body tackle and begins pounding down on him. Outside the ring, Apollo beats down on Pierre and finishes the job by suplexing him on the hardwood gym floor. Pierre winces in pain, and Apollo gets in the ring, where Ringmaster has Milan on his feet. Directly behind him is the fallen ladder. Ringmaster goes for a suplex, intending to drop Milan onto the ladder. He picks him up, but Milan drops behind Ringmaster, landing on his feet. Apollo takes this opportunity to get some offense in by bouncing off the ropes and attempting to attack Ringmaster, but Apollo is met with a sharp kick to the face. Apollo goes down. Milan runs behind Ringmaster and hits a bulldog, planting him face first. Milan goes after the ladder and sets it up in the ring, directly under the title. He begins to asend it once again, but this time, Pierre the Masked Canuck has something to say about it. He goes to the top turnbuckle and yells "EHHH!" The fans cheer, and Pierre dives at the ladder, but fails miserably, falling flat on his face.*
Ellis: And Pierre completely fails the Great White Leap...
Wise: ...Maybe if Pierre weren't so white he could have made that jump...
*Milan looks down in pity, and continues to ascend the ladder. He gets to the top step and reaches for the title, but Apollo and Ringmaster spring to life, pushing Milan off the ladder and sending him crashing outside the ring, landing in a crumpled heap. The fans begin a "Holy Shit!" chant as Milan lies motionless on the light blue wrestling mat set outside the ring. Apollo and Ringmaster begin to trade blows, Ringmaster eventually gaining the advantage. Ringmaster gives Apollo a boot to the gut, and as Apollo begins to keel over, Ringmaster hits a sick enzuigiri, dropping Apollo next to a stirring Pierre. Ringmaster makes his way to his feet, noticing that Pierre is also to his feet. Pierre goes for a kick, but Ringmaster blocks it, holding onto the leg. He spins Pierre around and hits a devastating ass kick, sending Pierre flying through the ropes and crashing into the barracade! The crowd goes wild.*
Wise: THE ASS KICK! THE ASS KICK! Pierre may never be able to perform natural body functions again! Oh the agony!
Ellis: *Shakes his head in disgust*
*Ringmaster takes this opportunity to set up the ladder in the middle of the ring, and he begins to climb. Apollo isn't stirring, and nobody else is in the ring. It looks like it may be over. Ringmaster takes his time getting to the top, being sure not to slip and blow the moment. Finally he gets to the top. He reaches out, and his fingers touch the gold. Suddenly, Dave Milan pops up onto the apron. He slings himself up into a springboard, and makes a fantastic leap, clotheslining Ringmaster off the ladder and crashing to the mat. The fans erupt in another "Holy Shit!" chant... Which turns into a "GCW" chant.*
Ellis: Dave Milan has sacrificed his body for this match, and the fans are showing their gratitude!
Wise: This is GCW, baby!
*The momentum of the clothesline has sent Ringmaster under the bottom rope and to the ground. Milan lies in pain, while Apollo Mercer, still a bit dizzy after that dangerous enzuigiri from Ringmaster, has made his way to his feet. Apollo picks up Milan and lifts him up, looking for the Platinum Express, but Milan reverses out of it, and hits the Omerta on Apollo, sending him back down and out. Now is Milan's chance. The crowd is roaring for him... "DAVE MI-LAN! DAVE MI-LAN!" Dave wastes no time lollygaging and sets up the ladder. With all his might he climbs up to the top... Slowly but surely. Still no sign of action from Apollo, Ringmaster, or Pierre. Dave finally makes his way to the top, slightly fatigued, but he reaches out for the belt. He sets his hand on the leather strap and goes to unlatch it, when all of a sudden, Pierre the Masked Canuck ascends the ladder like he's scaling Mount Logan in the Yukon. He makes his way to the top and begins to trade blows with Milan... His first offensive manuever all day. Milan strikes back, furious that the Canuck has interfered with his chances at winning that title. Pierre nearly drops off the ladder, but grasps on to maintain his balance. Pierre hits one more strike, popping Milan right in the grill. Milan is taken aback, but Pierre takes this opportunity to grab onto Milan's head from the other side of the ladder. He is clearly setting him up for something very dangerous.*
Ellis: Could he be... No... Not even Pierre is crazy enough to try and hit the Niagara Falls DDT... OFF THE LADDER!
Wise: Who are you to doubt how crazy the Masked Canuck is, Ellis!?
*Pierre lets out what could be his last "EHHH!" that he ever says. He jumps off the ladder, intending to hit the Niagara Falls DDT, but Milan hangs on to the ladder, sending Pierre off by himself. Pierre goes crashing down to the mat, landing in a awkward position. The crowd gives an empathetic "OHHH!!!" at the crashing sound of Pierre's body hitting the ground. Milan maintains his balance on the ladder and looks up at the Evolution title. He has survived so much in this match, and now here is his shot. Ringmaster begins to stir outside the ring, but Milan is unaware. He reaches up for the belt once again. He grabs ahold of the leather strap, and begins to unsnap it off the support holding it above the ring. Ringmaster enters the ring and desperately shoves the ladder down. Milan, out of desperation, grabs onto the support holding the title up, hanging in mid-air. Milan takes time to regain his senses, and finishes unsnapping the title. He drops down to the mat, GCW Evolution title in hand. All Ringmaster can do is watch... The bell rings and Dave Milan lies in the ring, clutching his newly acquired GCW Evolution title.*
Ellis: Here's your winner and first ever GCW Evolution Champion... DAVE MILAN!
*The crowd gives a hearty cheer for Dave, who is almost in tears. The Ringmaster helps him up to his feet, and in the name of good sportsmanship, raises his arm in the air. Ringmaster and Dave shake hands and trade kind words. Ringmaster eventually leaves the ring, feeling slightly defeated, but is still holding his head up high. The crowd gives a standing ovation for Dave, who holds the title above his head, displaying it to the audience.*
Wise: I have to hand it to him... He really fought hard for that belt, Ellis.
Ellis: I'm sure he's going to be an outstanding champion.
Winner: Dave Milan @ 16:07

GCW Heavyweight Championship Finals
Wise: Welp, here it is folks. The whole enchilada. The GCW Heavyweight Championship finals to determine GCW's first ever GCW Heavyweight Champion. We go in ring where William Ellis is prepared to introduce our finalists.
Ellis: And now ladies and gentlemen, the moment you have all been waiting for. This is our Main Event of the evening. This match is scheduled for one-fall and is the Final match in the tournament to crown the first ever Heavyweight Champion! Coming to the ring first, standing Six feet Two inches and weighing Two-hundred fifteen pounds. Elijah…Cage!”
Music starts, then loud pyro and explosions. Elijah then runs down the ramp, slides through the bottom ropes, stands up slowly as the lights go off, 3 seconds later huge pyros in the turnbuckles go off and shows Cage in the middle of the ring taunting.
Ellis: “…and his opponent, the other finalist in the Heavyweight Championship tournament. From San Diego, California, Standing Six feet Five inches tall and weighing in at two-hundred forty-two pounds. David…Hilt!”
He walks forward from the back, slapping the hands of a few fans, then turns around, walking backward down the ramp to face (and pump up) the crowd. Near the end he throws his arms up twice (sort of like in the fan favorite ramp entrance in svr2k7) and turns around, almost on one foot, and dashes toward the ring. He slides in under the bottom rope, and quickly pushes himself up to his feet. He does a 360 spin with his arms spread out (looking confident, of course) then jumps on the bottom rope nearest him, talking to the crowd for a couple seconds, with the general "look at me, get excited," gestures. Afterward, he jumps off (spinning around in the process, toward a turnbuckle) and runs toward it. Near it, he jumps all the way to the top rope, and (squatting) holds both sides of the corner to balance for a bit, then continues talking out toward the crowd, using various arm/hand gestures to get them excited. He jumps off, and bounces off the ropes.
Frank calls for the opening bell as the two men lock horns in the match of the evening--the match that will crown one or the other as the first ever GCW Heavyweight Champion. Elijah is quick to get the upper hand and locks in a head lock and quickly pulls Hilt over in a snap mare and continues to wrench on the neck of his foe. Hilt manages to wiggle up to his feet and lays in a couple storied elbows to the midsection of his attacker. Hilt backs Cage into the ropes and shoots him off across the ring. Cage ducks a clothesline on the rebound and continues into the ropes once again. Cage smartly ducks a second clothesline attempt and stops dead in his tracks, spins himself around and grabs Hilt by the backs of his shoulders and pulls him down to the mat. Cage hooks a leg for a pin attempt, but Hilt easily kicks out at 2.
Ellis: A nonchalant kickout by Hilt.
Wise: There should be more emotion! EMOTION!
Cage drags Hilt to his feet and shoots him into a corner. He rushes in after him, but Hilt smartly gets a boot up. Hilt bursts out of the corner and tackles Cage to the mat with a Lou Thez press and starts laying in the rights and lefts in a fit of rage. Hilt floats into a cover and Cage kicks out easily. Hilt locks in a head-lock while both men remain on the mat and Cage manages to get his foot on the ropes forcing Frank to start the 5-count. Hilt drags him up and hooks in a text-book vertical suplex and floats over for yet another cover. Cage manages to kick out in 2. Hilt drags him up once again and sends him into a corner. Hilt is quick to follow him in. Cage hits the corner hard, but manages to find the time to drop out of the way as Hilt flies in with a stinger-splash finding nothing but turnbuckle pads. Hilt bounces back holding his chest as Cage nails him with a nice spear. Cage holds for the cover, but unbelievably Hilt kicks out. Cage drags Hilt up to his feet and shoots him off into the ropes, Hilt reverses the attempt and sends Cage into the ropes in his stead. Hilt connects with a drop toe hold and before Cage can react Hilt locks in the ‘42’ in the center of the ring. Cage writhes in pain struggling to hold on, but it’s only a matter of time before Cage is forced to tap out.
Ellis: Cage taps! Cage taps!
Wise: David Hilt is the first ever GCW Champion!
*David Hilt is presented with the title, and He raises it above his head in victory. Elijah doesn't stay to congratulate Hilt, sauntering to the back... defeated. His eyes are welled up with tears. David looks on, feeling some remorse for Cage, but all the bullshit that he has had to endure doesn't even matter anymore. Unbeknownst to Hilt, Rich Maxwell is in the audience, wearing a slight grin.*
Ellis: As promised, Gate City Wrestling has accomplished so much with Open the Gate, and I'm sure that we have a lot more in store for you in the future. I'm William Ellis, and for my partner Bryan Wise, goodbye everyone!
Winner and new GCW Heavyweight Champion—David Hilt @ 19:45 with the 42
